Wiregrass vs Jenkins 10/5/2018

FHCI-D 8:15pm

Anything but a typical game for the second of the night at Florida Hospital Center Ice, Jenkins and Wiregrass combined for 5 game misconducts and saw a final score of Jenkins winning 4 to 3. Here’s how the scoring played out.

            First Period

The only goal from this period was an even-strength goal for Jenkins scored from Stefan Bolton. The primary assist was awarded to Ayden Williams.

Second Period

Wiregrass opened their share of scoring 60 seconds after the first intermission by Erik Laflamme ripping a pass towards Sean Mesa, who converted to even the score. The next goal came from Wiregrass, making the score 2-1 to finish the period after a goal from Nicholas Simonelli and an assist from Michael Satalino.

Third Period

Jenkins scored the only special team’s goal of the night with a power-play goal after Wiregrass forward Matthew McGovern arrived at the game late but failed to provide the much-needed cavalry for his team after he got a holding penalty on his first shift. Zach Zelmanski got credit for the power play goal, and Stefan Bolton got the assist. Wiregrass would take back the lead at 7:42 left in the game when Michael Satalino netted a wrist shot with an assist coming from Erik Laflamme. It would only take Jenkins 54 seconds to prove they intended to stay in this game when Joseph Sansone found Stefan Bolton for his second goal of the game. Jenkins netted the game-winning goal with 3:50 left in the third after Stefan Bolton finished making his mark on the night by assisting Leah Nicholes’ goal from the top of the crease.

            Star of the Game

The star of the game almost went to Stefan Bolton for either getting the primary assist on or scoring every Jenkins goal, but numbers don’t lie, and the Referee staff out-performed every skater on the ice. They issued an impressive 71 penalty minutes and 4 game misconducts.
