Recap of our games from Friday night!
We kick things off at CIA. East Lake vs. Seminole. After a scoreless first period. BENJAMIN LACEY got the first goal of the game, giving East Lake a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, East Lake got goal number two from COLSON VALBY. Seminole would get two back and tie the game up at 2-2 by goals from SEBASTIAN MIDDLETON and COLIN SARR. RYAN BAHULA would give Seminole the lead in the third for his team. But it wasn’t enough, East Lake got two goals in the third, give them the game 4-3
Our second game at CIA was another tight one between Wiregrass and Palm Harbor. JACKSON BREWER got the game’s opening goal for Wiregrass. Palm Harbor goes on to score two goals added by THOMAS ZAMBA and JOHN D’AGOSTINO. In the second, Palm Harbor would get three goals from THOAMS ZAMBA, SANTIAGO BARRIOS, and MATTHEW GEMMILL. Wiregrass would add one from KAEDEN TUCKER. Which gave Palm Harbor a 6-2 lead heading into the third. Wire Grass would go on to score four goals in this period, but it wasn’t enough to get past Palm Harbor, they win 7-6
Over at TBSA, Durant took on Berkeley. This one was all Durant. DYLAN SOUTHERN scored two goals for his Durant side both assisted by ERIC BOWLES. Even though Durant would go on to win the game 3-0. It needs to be said the best player on the ice was SPENCER ROSE, the goalie from Berkeley who saved 47 of the 50 shots he saw.
We had an absolute fight between Manatee and Plant. SEBASTIAN VOGT would get the opening, game-winning, and only goal for his Manatee side that ended 1-0.
Now let’s shift our attention to FHCI where Jesuit took on Mitchell. Jesuit’s TREVOR WARDELL got the first goal of the game in the first. Mitchell would come back with two of their own from AIDAN NEAL and TUCKER TASSONE. The player of the game was easily JOSHUA BURKE who had two powerplay goals and a short-handed goal but that just wasn’t enough as Mitchell would get the win 6-5.
Back to TBSA for Newsome vs. Steinbrenner. This one was tight, we saw the first goal of the game by Steinbrenner’s MAX WEINSTOCK but two goals in the second from Newsome’s ANDREW GOLDEN and BRAXTON LUCERO was all it took for Newsome to get the 2-1 win
For our last game of the evening, we had Freedom vs. Bloomingdale. We saw two goals from each team in the first DONOVAN VOLD and JAMES MCCELLAND for Bloomingdale and on the other side, MATTHEW SPECIALE got both for his Freedom side. We’re calling the second period of this one the OWEN BARNO hour because he got three goals in this period and his fourth in the third period. His efforts would lead his Freedom side to the 7-2 victory.
