The Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL) today announced the Stars of the Month, presented by Honda, for the month of November. Palmetto’s James Gelvin was named the Honda Player of the Month, and Durant’s Ryan Putnam was named the Honda Goalie of the Month.

Gelvin, a forward for Palmetto, finished November with 16 points in five games, including eight goals and eight assists. He also posted a game-winning goal against Plant on November 20th, and had a hand in 16 of the 23 goals Palmetto scored in the month.

Behind Gelvin, Palmetto finished 3-2 in November, including a 4-1 win over fellow Lecavalier Division rival Plant.

Putnam finished November a perfect 3-0-0 for Durant, posting a .950 save percentage and a 1.33 goals against average. He also collected a shutout with 29 saves in a 5-0 win over Freedom on November 4th.

With Putnam between the pipes, Durant finished November with five wins and no losses, helping them stay atop the Modin Division. Putnam made 22 saves in a 4-3 win over division rival Riverview on November 18th, and added 25 saves on 26 shots in a 2-1 win over Jesuit on November 22nd.

The Honda Player of the Month and Honda Goalie of the Month is a monthly feature during the 2022-23 season that honors the top performing player and goalie in the LHSHL.
