The Lightning High School Hockey League announced the 2019-2020 Lightning Cup Playoff matchups and bracket today, following the conclusion of 198 total regular season games among the 18 varsity teams..
12 of the LHSHL’s varsity teams (6 per conference) have advanced to the post season and will participate in a single elimination bracket in route to the 2020 Lightning Cup Final, which will be hosted at Amalie Arena on February 9th during Hockey Day in Tampa. Teams finishing the regular season in 1st and 2nd place in their division earn an automatic bid to the postseason, while the final 2 teams per conference earn a wildcard bid based on their overall standing in their conference. 1st place teams have also earned a bye through the first round.

Post season teams will compete in a single elimination bracket, moving through their division and conference before reaching the Lightning Cup Final. The first round of the 2020 Lightning High School Hockey League playoffs will commence on January 31st, 2020 at approximately 7:15 pm at Clearwater Ice Arena for Western Conference opponents (Plant vs Palm Harbor followed by East Lake vs Mitchell) and 8:00pm at TGH Ice Plex (Jesuit vs Durant followed by West Manatee vs Newsome).
Playoff games will be played at the following rinks on the following dates:
