TAMPA BAY – The Lightning High School Hockey League (LHSHL) today named East Manatee senior Patrick Kenefick and East Lake senior Justin Garr as the league’s Co-Honda Player of the Month for September. Additionally, the league also announced East Manatee junior Tyler Moschella as Goalie of the Month.
Kenefick notched 14 goals and added seven helpers for a total of 21 points last month, including four power play goals and two game-winning goals. East Manatee’s points leader helped lead the team to an undefeated 5-0 record to start the 2017-2018 LHSHL season.
East Lake’s Garr led the league in scoring for the month of September, while finding the back of the net eight times and chipping in 15 assists for a total of 23 points. Additionally, Garr’s 15 helpers lead the LHSHL.
East Manatee’s starting goaltender Tyler Moschella appeared in four of the team’s five games for the month of September, posting a 4-0 record overall. In addition to winning all four of his starts, the junior netminder’s 1.43 goals-against-average (GAA) was the lowest last month among the league’s starting goaltenders.
Kenefick, Garr and Moschella will each receive a personal replica trophy to recognize their accomplishments, along with their names engraved on the permanent award that will be given to both the Honda Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year at the end of the season.
